This is not a sweater, a panel discussion @ BF+DA

On Sept. 19th, our CEO, Yuchen Zhang joined a panel discussion titled This is Not a Sweater about smart garments and functional fabrics at Pratt Institute's accelerator program, Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator (BF+DA). The panel discussion was hosted by BF+DA’s executive director Deb Johnson. Olivia Burca, garment engineer at Wearable Experiments and Chris Kasabach, a pioneer in the field of wearable computing and connected healthcare also joined the conversation. This was an event on thinking and creating smart garments, functional fabrics, and e-textiles as part of New York Textile Month. During the discussion, the panelists had a great conversation about the challenges and potentials in wearable technology and smart textiles.

Sourcing Journal quoted, “The navigation of the fashion world and the technology world is so different, it’s almost chaotic,” said Yuchen
Zhang, Wearable Media co-founder. “We want to bridge this gap and we are working on a product system to help designers incorporate technology easily into their garments.”
